Apply to be a member of SOFC
SOFC, or the Student Organization Funding Committee, is the branch of DSG which is responsible for the recognition and funding of all student groups on campus. We distribute nearly $700,000 annually, and are looking for a few sophomores and freshmen to apply. As a part of SOFC, you will gain experience with boardroom discussions and debate and you will get to play a huge role in shaping the student group experience at Duke. We are looking for opinionated and outgoing students with diverse experiences and backgrounds who want to improve the opportunities for students on Duke’s campus.
See the application here.
Apply to the SOFC Programming Fund!
Short on cash? Need funds for an event? Then apply to the SOFC Programming Fund! The SOFC is the funding arm of the Duke Student Government and the Programming Fund is our main source of event-based funding for student groups on campus. This fund is open to all recognized and chartered student groups. We accept applications for all types and sizes of student-sponsored events, as long as they are open and free of charge to all Duke undergraduates. Funding for events can range from less than $100 to more than $10,000 per event and we fund things such as food, honorariums, set-up and technical fees, etc. for events. Applications instructions can be found here. All student groups are encouraged to apply. Questions? Contact Vice Chair of Programming Gary Yeh at gary.yeh@duke.edu.
